The #26 XR1200 sponsored by Oxford Consulting Group/ RevZillia.com/RIDER
Insurance had a mixed weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Team
Rider and Owner Peter Cline qualified for the Vance & Hines XR1200
race with the RacerRuss Harley-Davidson, but fell during the later part
of Friday’s qualifying session, suffered a broken collarbone and could
not make the race.
“With the tire test behind us, we knew where we had to be with our times
to make the cutoff. On Friday, my crew chief (Witchkraft Racing’s Aaron
Bagwell) made a spring swap recommended by Öhilins USA’s Lenny and we
dropped time in both sessions and made the cut-off in Q1. I just got
greedy and paid the price. There’s no doubt that we could have qualified
even higher in the order and placed well in both races. Our Wounded
Warrior Project Alumni crew was amazing! Despite the accident, we
qualified, put our warriors with another team, gave tremendous value to
disabled veterans and had fun. I’d say we had a successful weekend even
if we didn’t grid up” stated Team Ohio’s PeteCline. Cline’she injury
will require 6-8 weeks to heal.
“This was my second race working with Pete Cline, Team Ohio Racing and
their #26 Harley-Davidson in the Vance &Hines XR1200 series,” said
Sgt. Edward L. Stow, 2-7 Cav, 1st Cav Div, U.S. Army, (2 tours in Iraq).
It has been a truly remarkable experience. My wife and I brought our
son this time, and he is still talking about all the motorcycles. You
couldn’t ask for a more patriotic team. It has been an honor working
with them, and amazing what they are doing for our nations warriors.
Hooah!!!!!”
As Team Ohio Racing looks towards the next event at New Jersey
Motorsports Park, plans will include having East Coast warriors
participate within the team. The team is seeking team partners to fund
their efforts at NJMP as well as a rider to fill the vacant seat and
work with the Wounded Warrior Project Alumni crew. Interested,
experienced riders with an AMA Pro Racing License should contact Pete
Cline at silopete@yahoo.com with their race resumes.
