Columbus, Ohio based Team Ohio Racing / Veterans Empowered Through Motorsports (TOR-VETM) announces it’s tax-exempt status as a 501c3 charity as they head to the AMA Pro Road Racing’s weekend at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. TOR-VETM will partner with Paul James riding the #70 Harley-Davidson of James Gang / Hoban Brothers entry in the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series. Joining the paddock outreach will be Tyler Linders on the #48 Yamaha YZF-R6, supported by Next Moto Champion / Dr. David Benkle. This will be the first time the combat veteran outreach program will work in the AMA Pro Motorcycle-SuperStore.com SuperSport class.
James stated, “Road America is our home track and we can't wait to work together with our disabled combat veteran crew there. It's going to be our pleasure to share the entire race weekend experience with them. We had an outstanding experience working with our veteran crews at Daytona, and there is no doubt that we’ll see the same success this weekend.”
Peter Cline, Founder of TOR-VETM, added, “Rob Linders (father of AMA Pro Racer Tyler Linders) posted on the WERA Forum that he needed assistance in the paddock for Road America. We connected and worked out the logistics. This is our first outreach attempt in the SuperSport class, so we are very excited to be given the opportunity. It’s last minute, but we have faith that we can provide Tyler and the #48 Next Moto Champion / Dr. David Benkle the support they need. This will be a great experience for the combat veteran crew from Sheboygan Falls, WI area. I encourage all the fans to meet our crews when at the race this weekend.”
“Even more exciting was our establishment of tax-exempt status as a 501c3 with the IRS. We didn’t anticipate this happening until mid to late summer, so when we got the letter in the mail it was quite a surprise. This took considerable time and effort, and would not have been possible without our Team Ohio Racings sponsor Oxford Consulting. This allows us to fund raise and take donations. This funding will in turn allow us to provide, monitor and expand a successful outreach program. I want to state that all donations fund the experience, and not the teams that we partner with. The IRS, and our bylaws, is very clear on that. The teams are partners, and the funding goes to assisting, monitoring and documenting the combat veteran outreach.”

We place combat veterans into motorsports events that are team-oriented, purposeful and goal driven with actual hands-on time. Motorsports by nature is a high energy and adrenaline-filled sport, and by engaging combat veterans we work with established skills and tools they acquired while deployed.
