VETMotorsports CEO Named "Everyday Hero of Central-Ohio" Semifinalist.

VETMotorsports CEO Peter Cline has been selected as one of Dispatch Media Group's "Everyday Heroes of Central-Ohio" semifinalist for 2017. Since 2013 Cline has lead VETMotorsports to become an award-winning, non-clinical outreach program that honors and empowers post-9/11 veterans with service-related injuries through active participation in motorsports. The program provides inspiration and motivation for participating vets by making them part of a new team and giving them a new mission. Since starting the program Cline has been recognized with four consecutive awards for volunteerism. The all volunteer effort has reached over 170 veterans nationwide in over 70 unique events, with two direct hires into motorsport teams.

Land-Grant Brewing Company and VETMotorsports will host a pre-game fundraiser on Thursday, September 14 in advance of the Ohio State vs. Army football game to raise money to assist armed forces veterans with service-connected injuries.

“We’re losing 22 veterans a day to suicide, and programs like ours can make a difference,” said Ohio State graduate and VETMotorsports Executive Director Peter Cline. “I'm honored to be recognized for the efforts VETMotorsports is making in the community. I'm encouraging all our supporters, as well as those interested in learning more about our mission, to stop by Land-Grant Brewery on September 14th. We are honored to have them behind us for this event and look forward to enjoying some championship-quality craft beer and raising some money to get even more of our injured vets back in the game.”

The free event, which is open to the public, will kick off at 4:30 p.m. at Land-Grant’s “home field” at 424 W. Town Street in East Franklinton, and run until 7:30 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a Land-Grant Stiff Arm IPA and a host of other brews, sample selections from the Ajumama Korean-inspired street food truck, purchase game tickets, pick up a limited-edition 37th Infantry "Buckeye Division" shirt, and make donations to VETMotorsports.
