SALISBURY, NC, June 25, 2019 – Countersteer Life, a not-for-profit, which provides at no charge, weekend motorcycle riding experiences exclusively for post-9/11 Combat veterans, has entered into a partnership with not-for-profit organization VETMotorsports to provide seats in its Countersteer Veteran Experiences to VETMotorsports’ veteran participants. VETMotorsports is an award-winning, non-clinical outreach program that honors and empowers veterans; active military, National Guard and Reserve; Gold Star parents; and those with service-connected injuries and their caregivers through active participation in motorsports. The program recruits participants, gives them hands-on access to a variety of motorsports experiences, and covers all expenses for them to take part.
Countersteer offers weekend programs for veterans who want to experience the joy and freedom of motorcycling. From Learn to Ride to Advanced Rider Techniques, the all Veteran staff help participants take their riding to a high level of understanding and control using techniques from the nationally acclaimed Cornerspin school.
““The Countersteer Experience is about helping veterans cope with PTSD and Combat Stress through motorcycling. Peer support, community, rider education and a safe place to be with one another fosters the bonding and learning environment. Riding is about finding some peace of mind for their day to day lives. said Countersteer Founder and Chair Aaron Stevenson. “VETMotorsports shares our approach of giving veterans new adrenaline outlets while also giving them non-threatening, non-judgmental, no-pressure opportunities to interact. We think it’s a perfect partnership.”
“For so many veterans, motorcycling is a way to de-stress, spend time with their buddies and just feel normal,” said VETMotorsports Founder and Executive Director Pete Cline. “Countersteer has found a way to synthesize that experience while also giving veterans advanced skills they can take home and into their everyday riding. We’re extremely proud to partner with them and to get our participants involved in these incredible programs.”
Veterans wishing to take part in the program can contact Pete Cline at 614-563-8634 or firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more.
