LISTEN TO OUR MARINE PARTICIPANT DISCUSS HOW VETMOTORSPORTS AFFECTED HIM.

VETMotorsports honors and empowers post 9/11 service members with service connected injuries through active participation in motorsports. We embed these incredible men and women with professional racing teams or put them behind the wheel to race in controlled environments. It’s an experience that gives them something they miss most from their deployment -- the chance to be part of a team and a mission. These testimonials show the impact the program has had on the more than 160 warfighters we’ve engaged since the program’s inception.

The time with fellow vets, while getting this awesome opportunity to race a car around a track, was amazing. Justin J., USMC, Purple Heart Recipient, United Ford Owners Autocross, Circleville, OH, October 2016

It was truly life-changing. The people I met, seeing how everybody worked together, everyone was so genuine, accepting and being who you want to be. Nobody was judging me, I was just being myself. Daniel C., USMC, Purple Heart Recipient, Triumph Thruxton Cup, Barber Vintage Festival, Leeds AL, October 2016

I spoke to Daniel C. briefly, yesterday. His exact quote about the event was that it was “badass”. Theresa V., Caregiver Support Coordinator, Birmingham, AL, October 2016

I had so much fun being able to drive on a closed track area with other veterans like myself. It was a great time being able to joke around with others and laugh. Justin S., US Army, Purple Heart Recipient, Northwest Ohio Region SCCA Autocross, Toledo, OH, October 2016

Thank you so much for getting Bob in there. He had a blast and made some friends that he so needed. Patricia M., Spouse, Northwest Ohio Region SCCA Autocross, Toledo, OH, October 2016

We had so much fun and the camaraderie was great too! Lacy S., Air National Guard, Northwest Ohio Region SCCA Autocross, Toledo, OH, October 2016

I can see how this program can be a positive way for many veterans to be engaged in something meaningful. I loved how hands-on I got to be with the bike. Robert J., USMC, Bonneville Performance Castrol Factory Triumph, American Motorcyclist Association Charlotte Half-Mile, Charlotte NC, July 2016

The experience that VETMotorsports provided was mentally and emotionally relaxing, while physically challenging and fun. It gave me a sense of accomplishment as well, as I was a part of a team that was grateful for my help. Jace F., US Air Force, ESPN X-Games Austin, Austin TX, June 2016

I had an outstanding time. Best experience I've had ever. Great experience, atmosphere, crew and team. I was treated like one of the crew as soon as I got there. Charles W., US Army, Bonneville Performance Castrol Factory Triumph, American Motorcyclist Association Harley-Davidson Lone Star Half-Mile, Austin TX, April 2016

My aggression and rage hasn't been this low in years. I feel so relaxed. The experience through VETMotorsports was awesome. They've turned me on to a whole new world that I think will really help me cope in the future. I really think this is going to help me cope with my PTSD and other mental issues a lot better now especially once I get into this more and more. Thank you guys so much for everything and for everything that you do for other veterans. John K., USMC, Autocross, Western Ohio Region Sports Car Club of America Vs. Miami Valley Sports Car Club National Auto Sport Association, Wilmington OH, July 2016

The program’s service to veterans is profound and inspiring which has a deeper impact than I think you can imagine. In my opinion, VETMotorsports is a world-class experiment in combatting PTSD and other injuries commonly suffered by veteran warriors. James M., US Army, Bonneville Performance Castrol Factory Triumph, American Motorcyclist Association Sacramento Mile, Sacramento CA, May 2016

Our veteran was instrumental in our success throughout the weekend by helping us manage the schedule, ensuring we hit our on-track calls, providing pre- and post-session bike prep, and motivating the riders throughout the day. Justin P., Team Owner & US Army Major, American Motorcyclist Association Vintage Motorcycle Days, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, July 2016

I will remember that day as one of my most favorite for the rest of my life. Ray "Douglas" S., US Army, Bonneville Performance Castrol Factory Triumph, American Motorcyclist Association Don Tilley Memorial Half-Mile, Charlotte NC, August 2015

Our time spent with fellow veterans was really good for Jason, as they talked about their experiences in Iraq. These personal interactions were by far the most important events of the day for Jason. Mike E., Caregiver for Jason E., US Army, Purple Heart Recipient, Dead Presidents Racing & Latus Motors Racing, MotoAmerica,Yamaha Superbike Challenge of Virginia, May 2016

VETMotorsports is nothing short of fantastic. I hardly ever leave the house because I don't have anyone else around me that understands the way a veteran thinks. I've also always told my wife how I thought I'd be good at racing, I finally got to put my thoughts to the test. Joseph P., U.S. Army, Sports Car Club of America, Northeast Ohio Region Event, Lakewood Community College, Kirtland OH, August 2015

The event was awesome. I really enjoyed the opportunity to race. I also liked that it was a laid back and easy atmosphere that was not overwhelming. Nicholas N., USMC, Sports Car Club of America, Northeast Ohio Region Event, Lakewood Community College, Kirtland OH, August 2015

Getting to know new vets and interact with civilians was very easy in this environment. The autocross experience is very therapeutic. I would highly recommend this program to any vet! Adam G., USMC, Sports Car Club of America, Northeast Ohio Region Event, Lakewood Community College, Kirtland OH, August 2015

The one glaring thing that shined the light on what other organizations  in the past had been missing, was the complete utilization of the veteran in every aspect of the event. VETMotorsports provided an event that was mentally and physically challenging to my level and capabilities while allowing me to learn and experience new things along the side of other veterans to make it more copasetic. Jarred D., USMC, Historic Sportscar Racing, ‘The Mitty”, Road Atlanta, Atlanta, GA April 2015

This is my second event with VETMotorsports and each time my expectations of what the day has to offer have been exceeded tenfold. I can not speak highly enough of VETMotorsports for the work they do getting Vets integrated back to civilian life, all the while not giving up a feeling that has meant so much to all of us. Joshua H., U.S. Army, Sports Car Club of America, Ohio Valley Region Event, The Ohio State University, Columbus OH, August 2015

I don't do much or get out much since returning from Iraq, nor do I have the social outings that I had before. I was really able to enjoy myself and forget the bad memories and pain that plague me most days. Tom D., U.S. Army, Sports Car Club of America, Ohio Valley Region Event, The Ohio State University, Columbus OH, August 2015

For the first time in a long time I had absolutely no worries in the world and had a stress-free few days. Joshua H., U.S. Army, East Coast Timing Association, The Ohio Mile Land Speed Event, Wilmington OH, April 2015

The experience was extraordinary. To be a part of a record-breaking team surrounded by other veterans is something not to forget. I found the experience itself to be very fulfilling and perfect for someone struggling with PTSD.  Jeremy C., Air National Guard, East Coast Timing Association, The Ohio Mile Land Speed Event, Wilmington OH, April 2015
